Take a Scenic Drive along Catalina Highway

Catalina Highway which becomes General Hitchcock Highway is the only paved road up to Mount Lemmon and the Santa Catalina Mountains. Catalina highway is accessed via Tanque Verde Road which runs through the Bear Canyon Estates. With plenty of switchbacks, you never know what amazing view will be around the next bend. There are many turnoffs along the way so that you can stop, take pictures and stretch your legs. There are also many hiking trails, be sure to take water if you go hiking, this is still the desert. The change in elevation leads to changes in the flora and fauna as you follow the road up. Enjoy some of Arizona’s most spectacular views!
